Pre - Production

In the pre-production of the video we made a storyboard so that we would know where everything is and at what time it would be filmed at and how long each shot would be. When we initially started to plan the video we made a storyboard, we planned each scene and where it would be filmed.

This is the storyboard that we created to plan out how we would be doing the different scenes and what’s going on in them. We thought up the possible locations for the video to be filmed it to create a good video.
This didn’t challenge the conventions of a music magazine as this would be used in the industry when planning a music video. This is a good way of planning out what is going to happen so that you know when you know what to do.

We also made a prop list which was quite useful as this ensured that we had the right equipment and knew what we wanted and needed to bring in order to make the video look good. We then handed a copy of the prop list to each person involved in the video to make sure that they all had the right props and the equipment that we needed in order to shoot a music video successfully. This does not challenge the conventions of a music video as this would happen to make sure that the props that were required were at the location.

I think that by doing these things before we filmed the video helped to make the video more organised and overall more successful as we had the required equipment. I think that next time I film a video I will make sure that I use these techniques as they helped to organise the video and were successful.
